Boys’ basketball: Etiwanda holds on, beats Taft

Jordan Finn scored six of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left, to help Etiwanda, ranked No. 10 in the Southland by The Times, hold off No. 3 Taft, 50-44, in the featured game of the Greenway Fairfax State Preview Classic.
DeRonn Scott scored 16 points for Etiwanda (18-4), which snapped Taft’s 13-game winning streak. Michael Williams had 19 points for the Toreadors (18-3), who trimmed a nine-point deficit to two on Pierson Williams’ three-pointer with 15 seconds left before Finn’s free throws put the game away.
