Dwain Charles, a 47-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Nov. 25, in the 10400 block of South Normandie Avenue in unincorporated Los Angeles County, according to coroner’s officials.
Charles was shot about 6:25 p.m. when he was confronted by someone on the sidewalk, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead about 6:55 p.m.
Winter said the suspect ran out of view of witnesses, then a car was heard leaving the area.
