Four TCU football players arrested, accused of selling drugs

Four Texas Christian football players were among 17 students arrested Wednesday in a campus drug bust, police in Fort Worth said.

The players arrested were linebacker Tanner Brock, defensive lineman D.J. Yendry, offensive tackle Tyler Horn and cornerback Devin Johnson, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

TCU police chief Steve McGee said those arrested were caught selling marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs to undercover officers.

Police said they had not determined whether any of the players arrested have been selling drugs to other athletes. But TCU Chancellor Victor Boschini said the four players’ involvement was not a sign of a broader issue in the athletics program.

‘I don’t think it’s a football problem,’ Boschini told the Associated Press.

TCU football Coach Gary Patterson released a statement saying: ‘There are days people want to be a head football coach, but today is not one of those days.’

The arrests capped a six-month investigation prompted by complaints from students, parents and others, police said.
