Following a remarkable 36-32 victory today by the San Francisco 49ers over the visiting New Orleans Saints minutes ago, Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos will begin their attempt to top last week’s gripping overtime playoff victory the Pittsburgh Steelers by beating AFC top seed New England (13-3) right now.
The AFC West-champion Broncos (8-7) won the coin toss and deferred, giving the ball to Tom Brady and his offense, who started at the New England 20-yard line.
Brady connected on two quick passes to move New England past midfield, then tight end Aaron Hernandez took a reverse handoff from Brady and ran 43 yards to the Denver 7-yard line.
There, Brady connected with wide receiver Wes Welker for a 7-yard touchdown pass, and New England leads 7-0 with 13:09 left in the first quarter.
