Ndamukong Suh stomp won’t be reviewed until next week

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh’s stomp of Green Bay lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith will be reviewed by the league next week.

According to NFL policy, all plays from that week’s competition are reviewed after all games are completed for the week. So plays from Week 12 will be reviewed after Monday night’s game.

Expect Suh to receive a heavy fine and possible suspension for stepping down with his right foot on the right arm of Dietrich-Smith.

Suh was ejected for the play, which came early in the third quarter of Detroit’s 27-15 loss to the Packers.

‘I want to apologize to my teammates, my coaches and my true fans for allowing the refs to have an opportunity to take me out of this game,’ Suh said. ‘What I did was remove myself from the situation the best way I felt, with me being held down.’

Suh also said he wasn’t stomping on Dietrich-Smith, he was just trying to maintain his balance.

In 2006, then-Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth drew a five-game suspension for stomping on former Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode’s head.

Mike Pereria, the former vice president of officiating for the NFL, predicted on his Twitter account that Suh will be suspended multiple games.
