Fans accustomed to attending USC-UCLA games at the Rose Bowl that kicked off in the afternoon and ended under the lights will have to switch gears Dec. 4.
For the second year in a row, and only the seventh time in history, the annual game between the crosstown rivals will be played at night.
UCLA announced Tuesday that kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m., and that the game will be televised nationally by Fox Sports Net.
Television, of course, controls the start times.
USC leads the series, 44-28-7. This will be the second-latest start, trailing only an 8:30 p.m.kickoff in 1945, a USC official said.
Last year’s game had a 7 p.m. kickoff at the Coliseum. USC won 28-7.
