It’s official -- Manny Ramirez now plays for the Chicago White Sox.
The Dodgers slugger was officially claimed by the White Sox on Monday after the team placed him on waivers last week. The Times reported Sunday that Ramirez would be heading to Chicago.
Over parts of three seasons with the Dodgers, Ramirez had a .322 batting average with 44 home runs and 156 RBIs in 223 games. [Updated at 12:47 p.m.: Sources have told The Times Ramirez will not make his White Sox debut Monday.]
The Dodgers also announced they have called up right-handed reliever Ramon Troncoso from Triple-A Albuquerque.
