Mark Teixeira had never played in a postseason game until last year’s American League division series with the Angels. Now he’s in his first World Series and he says he notices a difference with each round of the playoffs.
‘It’s obviously the end. You know that there’s nowhere else you have to go,’ the Yankee first baseman said of the World Series. ‘When you play the division series and the LCS, there’s always more. You’re always kind of thinking ahead,. [But] this is it. I think everyone is going to step up their game, especially the pitchers.
‘You’re not saving any pitchers for the next round. You’re going to see the best out of the pitching staffs and I think that’s the difference.’
