One question to Bob and Mike Bryan, the twins from Camarillo who are the top-seeded doubles team at the L.A. Open and winners Thursday over Marat Safin and Igor Kunitsyn (6-3, 6-2), about how Andy Roddick is recovering from his heart-breaking Wimbledon finals loss to Roger Federer led to conversation about a new musical album the Bryans have written called, ‘Let It Rip.’
Really.
First, the Bryans said they sent a text message to Roddick offering to play in any charity event Roddick ever holds, like, forever, if Roddick would contribute his vocal skills to ‘Let It Rip.’ Roddick’s response was, ‘No. Chance.’
But the Bryans weren’t dissuaded from this musical experiment. They said they’ve written songs such as, well, ‘Let It Rip,’ ‘Chasing The Sun,’ ‘Marching On,’ ‘Spinning My Days,’ and, they said a secret addition called ‘Autograph.’ In case you aren’t believing this, there is a real musical talent also associated with the album, David Baron, who has recordings done without the Bryan brothers.
The plan will be for the album to be released in time for promoting at the U.S. Open next month.
