Cal State Northridge has attitude -- and the lead

What a start to the best two days of sports. Cal State Northridge has attitude that -- good for them -- CBS announcers Tim Brando and Mike Gminski have noticed.
The Matators also have no fear of second-seeded Memphis and right now no ability to find a bad shot. So the very special sound, the pleaful roar of a neutral crowd that has settled its collective self into the need to root on a major underdog because then, hey, you can say you saw the first upset of the 2009 NCAA tournament, it is piercing the morning of television in a fabulous way.
If only Northridge can make some free throws. And, oh, Memphis has obviously not been required to play much defense in Conference USA. It’s 64-61 Northridge.
