‘INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO’

SUNDAY

Clothes make the man, but “The Cape†makes an ex-cop (David Lyons) a superhero in this action drama. James Frain (“The Tudorsâ€) and Summer Glau (“Fireflyâ€) play the requisite super-villain and crusading female journalist, respectively. (NBC, 9 p.m.)

Ninety-nine bottles of beer on the wall: “Fargo’s†William H. Macy puts the “ne’er†in “ne’er-do-well†as a Windy City wino in the new dipsomaniacal-daddy, dysfunctional-family dramedy “Shameless.†Emmy Rossum costars. (Showtime, 10 p.m.)

MONDAY

The rubber-faced antics of Jim Carrey in comedies like “Ace Ventura†made him a mint, but it’s likely more serious turns in films such as “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind†and “The Number 23†(above) are what earned him a seat on a new “Inside the Actors Studio.†(Bravo, 8 p.m.)

TUESDAY

In this corner, down-on-his-luck former champ Patrick “Lights†Leary (Holt McCallany), trying to fight the good fight inside and outside the ring in the new boxing-themed drama “Lights Out.†Stacy “Fat City†Keach also stars. (FX, 10 p.m.)

You caught the “True Grit†reboot and the late-in-the-game sci-fi sequel “Tron Legacy†but still want more of Oscar winner Jeff Bridges? The man, or rather, “The Dude†himself (pictured below) is profiled on the season premiere of “American Masters.†(KOCE, 8 p.m.)
