David Tennant’s final episodes in ‘Doctor Who’ to air in December

The time has come to say goodbye: BBC America will air David Tennant’s final episodes as ‘Doctor Who’ in December.

The three remaining installments, a series of specials really, will begin with ‘Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars’ on Dec. 19. In it, The doctor and Adelaide (Lindsay Duncan) face terror on the Red Planet in one of their scariest adventures yet. Peter O’Brien stars as Ed, Adelaide’s second-in-command at the base.

The following two episodes will air over the holiday season as a two-part special, although dates have not yet been set.

Episodes starring Matt Smith as the new Doctor Who will begin airing next year.
