Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger offered a 45-hour reprieve to death-row inmate Albert Brown, delaying California’s first execution in five years.

Schwarzenegger vetoed a pair of bills aimed at protecting workers from having their wages stolen by employers after they leave their jobs.
