U.S. softball overpowers China, 9-0

BEIJING -- Behind the overpowering pitching performance by Cat Osterman, the U.S. softball team beat host China Monday, 9-0, scoring all its runs in the first inning.
The five-inning victory improved Osterman’s record to 3-0. She struck out three and walked one.
The U.S. is 7-0 at the end of preliminary play and moves on to the semifinals, which begin Wednesday.
