Dennis Quaid’s third wife, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, has reportedly filed for divorce, asking for spousal support and attorney’s fees.
‘The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities ... that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,’ said the divorce filing, obtained by TMZ.
The two have a temporary custody agreement in place as well, the website said, giving each party time with the young kids. Kimberly reportedly has custody of their main home.
Quaid was previously married to actress P.J. Soles, divorcing in 1983, and more famously to Meg Ryan. He and Ryan split in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.
Bubbling up at the same time as the divorce filing, courtesy of the New York Daily News, is an allegation of Valentine’s Day monkey business on Quaid’s part, according to tweets from Serena Williams’ practice partner Sascha Bajin. Bajin, who has since taken down the tweets, said Quaid stole his date at a party in L.A. thrown by the tennis star. A rep for Quaid told the Daily News that ‘someone’s imagination is getting away from them. Dennis was with friends that night.’
Quaid relocated to Austin, Texas, last year with Buffington-Quaid and their twins, saying, ‘L.A. has been good to us, but at this point in my life I’m ready to try something new.’ The couple were married in July 2004.
