The man shot Friday morning by an El Cajon police officer is in stable condition at a hospital, the Police Department said.
He was identified as Raymond Lee Goodlow, 53. Goodlow was shot when the officer believed he was reaching into his clothing for a possible weapon during a confrontation, police said.
Two knives were found in Goodlow’s clothing, police said. The officer involved in the incident, described as a two-year member of the department, had sought to issue a citation to Goodlow for riding his bicycle in the wrong direction.
