Phoenix-area family killed in plane crash in San Diego County

The three persons killed Saturday in the crash of a small plane in eastern San Diego County have been identified as a Phoenix-area mother, father and their teenage daughter.
The medical examiner identified the three as a 65-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman and their 19-year-old daughter. No names were revealed.
The family was returning to Phoenix. Their Lancair Turbine aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Montgomery Field in San Diego.
The crash occurred on a rugged hillside near Lakeside. The family’s dog was also killed in the crash.
