A soggy holiday? New storms moved in Southern California

A new series of rainstorms are moving into Southern California, making a wet Christmas holiday possible.

According to the National Weather Service, a storm system will move into the region tonight. Sunday and Monday will see periodic rains.

The current forecast calls for the rain to have moved out by Christmas Eve. Christmas Day should see cloudy skies, but more rain is expected on Wednesday and possibly into Thursday.

The weather service said snow levels will be around 5,500 feet.

The storms will be stronger along the Central Coast and lose some of their power when they get to Southern California, officials said.
