Why are these men smiling from the pages of the old Home magazine? They could be proud of their painted-on shirts and Thumbs Up corduroy pants, which, the Sears ad promises, will ‘resist wrinkling and bagging’ (as if there’s an extra inch of material for even one wrinkle). But maybe they’re just imagining a future decade when skinny pants and corduroy come roaring back, sparing all from having to see young men’s boxer shorts flapping out of baggy jeans.
