The American Institute of Architects returns to Venice for its annual Spring Home Tour. The April 11 event will feature: the Goodman Residence, designed by Trevor Abramson and Douglas Teiger of Abramson Teiger Architects; the Floating Bungalow, shown above, by Barbara Bestor of Bestor Architecture; the Hover House, by Glen Irani of Glen Irani Architects; and the Gelner Residence designed by Patrick Tighe of Tighe Architecture.

Here’s how the self-guided tour works: Attendees receive a ticket, map and directions -- and the homes are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (I walked the entire tour the last time it was in Venice.) Docents and members of the design team at each site answer questions and lead visitors through the houses.
