Get ready for another “house” party on Hollywood Boulevard. Jane’s House — not to be confused with MyHouse or the forthcoming Playhouse — opened its doors for a test run Saturday night.

Located in the spot that used to house Southern-style restaurant Memphis (within the courtyard behind La Cantina), Jane’s House still has a Victorian look, complete with a large front porch and a green and brown color scheme inside. But the dining room furniture has been replaced with a hodgepodge of mismatched pieces, creating the feel of an abandoned house taken over by frat guys, perfect for an all-out party where anything goes.

While this is owners Kimoon Kim and Katie Matthews’ first nightlife venture, they’re no strangers to throwing a well-attended party. Matthews, who used to run Jaime Pressly’s clothing line, and Kim, formerly in real estate, used to have 150 of their closest friends over to their Hancock Park home for Saturday night barbecues. Hence what they call their “combined large social network.”

Jane’s House won’t officially open for another six or seven weeks, in which time they’ll sand the floors, put a couch on the porch and set up a dining room on the second floor for seasonal cuisine.

Mellow diners need not worry: The restaurant portion of the venue will close before the clubbers start to stream in.
