‘This feels like New York,’ one guest said between sips of Champagne Thursday night at the Chloe party held at Milk Studios in Hollywood. She may have been referring to the event’s start time -- 9 p.m. -- which is usually when most L.A. soirees wind down. It could have been all the women wearing black blazers, mini-dresses and chunky cage heels. Or some famous New York fixtures like party host Chloe Sevigny and Leighton Meester.
Sevigny wore a boxy, cream blazer over micro-mini black satin shorts that showed off her sinewy gams. Her co-hostess Kate Bosworth did just the opposite, wearing a flowy, floor-length dress with thin straps on top.
The crowd was constantly swirling to sounds of Perry Farrell who DJ’d and then sang a few songs.
A rumor circulated that a special, secret performance by either Depeche Mode or Fergie was meant to happen. By midnight Crystal Castles hit the stage and those of us more conditioned to L.A. event hours hit the valet line.
