Does my subscription include full access to your mobile app?

Yes, subscribers get unlimited access to the app when they log in using their latimes.com email and password. The app is free to download for all iOS and Android users, however non-subscribers have access to only a limited number of articles.

How do I download the L.A. Times app?

Scan a QR code or tap one of the buttons above to be taken to your device’s app store.
Select the “L.A. Times: Essential California News” app and tap the button to download.
Open the app.
If you would like to enable push notifications, tap “Allow” when prompted.

How do I connect my digital subscription to the L.A. Times app?

Open the app and go to the “Home” tab in the bottom left corner of the navigation bar.
Tap the settings icon in the top right corner.
Under “Account,” tap “Log In/Register.”
Type in the email and password you used to create your latimes.com digital account. Then tap “Log In.”
Once you are logged in, your subscription type will automatically populate in the app.

I am not an L.A. Times subscriber. How do I subscribe using the app?

Open the app and go to the “Home” tab in the bottom left corner of the navigation bar.
Tap the settings icon in the top right corner.
Under “Account,” tap “Subscribe.”
Tap “Start Your Trial” to begin your first month of access for free.
Follow the prompts to finish setting up your subscription.

How do I find my favorite sections in the L.A. Times app?

There are two ways to find sections and explore content by topic in the app:

Go to the “Home” tab and scroll left to right in the menu of section headers at the top of the page.
Go to the “Home” tab and tap the hamburger menu in the top left corner to see all sections and topics.

How do I save an article for later in the L.A. Times app?

When you are viewing a story, tap the ribbon icon in the top right corner. To view your saved articles, tap the “Me” tab in the bottom right corner. Then scroll to the “Saved” section at the bottom.

Where do I find games and puzzles in the L.A. Times app?

Tap the “Media” tab in the bottom navigation bar. At the top of the page, toggle from “Video” to “Games” to play the daily crossword, mini crossword, sudoku and more, ad-free.
