Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn break up, citing their ‘hectic lives’
It appears the most famous couple in sports -- Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn and golfing great Tiger Woods -- are no longer together.
Vonn announced Sunday on her Facebook page that she is no longer dating Woods.
“After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship,†Vonn wrote. “I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.
“I will always admire and respect Tiger,†Vonn continued. “He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.â€
Woods shared a similar message on his website. “I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together,†he wrote. “She has been amazing with [Woods’ children] Sam and Charlie and my entire family.â€
Less than a month ago, Vonn accompanied Woods’ children as they caddied for him during the Par 3 contest at Augusta National Golf Club a day before the Masters.
Two weeks after watching Woods at the Masters, Vonn humorously admitted to not watching golf while appearing on “Late Night With Seth Myers.â€
Woods visited Vonn when she broke the record for career World Cup wins in Italy in January.
Woods announced in March 2013 that he was dating Vonn.
