PARK CITY, Utah -- Counting down to the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Lindsey Vonn says her injured knee is continuing to heal ahead of schedule and that she might start racing in Europe within the next few weeks.

Vonn required surgery after crashing on opening day of the Alpine Ski World Championships in Austria this past February.

“My knee feels great,†she said. “I don’t have any pain or any swelling.â€

Vonn spoke to reporters in a video conference from Ohio, where her boyfriend, Tiger Woods, is competing in the President’s Cup.

She credited Woods and her sister with helping her endure tough weeks after surgery and the rigors of rehabilitation. Getting back on skis recently, Vonn took runs with the U.S. team during a training camp in Portillo, Chile, but her training has yet to include simulated race conditions.

“I’m not going to race till I’m 100%,†she said. “That’s more of a mental thing than a knee thing.â€

Her quick recovery now puts here solidly on track to compete in the Winter Olympics. Vonn does not expect to ski slaloms in Sochi but hopes to be ready for the other events.
