LeBron James’ headband has been there for the NBA superstar through thick and thin.

But for some reason, James went without his signature accessory for much of a key stretch of one of the biggest games in Miami Heat history ... and did just fine.

The Heat pulled off an improbable 103-100 overtime victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the NBA Finals after trailing by as many 13 points late in the third quarter and five with just 28 seconds remaining in regulation.

Of course, James’ exposed forehead may have had nothing to do with the victory. After all, he and the Heat had already started to chip away at that deficit before the four-time league MVP lost the headband with just over nine minutes left in the fourth quarter.

But he went on to score on a dunk on the same play and then a layup about a minute later to bring the Heat within three points. And he never went back to the headband again, even when a replacement was flipped onto the court.

“I was just focused on the job, the task at hand, and just trying to be aggressive, just trying to figure out ways I could help the team get back into the game,†said James, who scored 12 of his 32 points with nothing to catch the sweat from the top of his head. “And you know, I guess the headband was the least of my worries at that point.â€

So now comes the it the inevitable question -- should James go with or without the headband for Game 7 on Thursday night? Let us know what you think.
