Watch Ravens’ Justin Tucker nail 61-yard field goal to beat Lions

Justin Tucker is the man for the Baltimore Ravens.

With the game — and quite possibly the entire season — on the line Monday night against the Detroit Lions, Coach John Harbaugh didn’t turn to quarterback Joe Flacco, the reigning Super Bowl MVP and the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Nope. On fourth-and-eight with 38 seconds remaining and the Ravens trailing by one, Harbaugh decided to let the guy who had accounted for all 15 of his team’s points that night and who had made 32 straight field goals on the season attempt one more.

From 61 yards out.

No one in franchise history had ever made a field goal that long. Tucker, who tied the team record held by Wade Richey with a 56-yarder last year, had never even attempted one from that far out during a game.

But he and his coach had plenty of confidence.

“When we got the ball there, I think at the 45-yard line, I said [to Tucker], ‘Hey, are we kicking this?’ ‘’ Harbaugh said. “He said, ‘I got it.’ â€

Tucker was right. His kick just barely cleared the right corner of the upright, to give the Ravens an eventually 18-16 victory and keep them in the sixth and final AFC playoff spot with two games remaining in the season.

Watch a replay of the amazing kick above and see all six of Tucker’s franchise-record six field goals as they happened here.
