Jaguars’ London deal takes them out of L.A. mix
The Los Angeles Jaguars?
Nope.
With the Jacksonville Jaguars committing to play one “home†game per season in London, starting in 2013, they’re out of the mix to relocate to Los Angeles. They were a longshot to fill the L.A. vacancy, anyway, with more likely relocation candidates being San Diego, St. Louis and Oakland. But the Jaguars were a dark horse.
Fact is, whatever team moves to L.A. -- assuming any team does -- that franchise will need to play as many home games as possible here in order to build a fan base. That was part of the unspoken rationale of the Rams for pulling out of their own London commitment.
Regardless, the Jaguars’ London calling is not good news for Jacksonville. It’s the first step out of town.
