Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow will hold a workout for Major League Baseball teams Aug. 30 somewhere in Los Angeles.

All 30 MLB teams have been invited. More than 20 organizations are said to have expressed interest in attending the showcase, which will be closed to the public.

Tebow was a standout baseball player at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., hitting .494 as a junior. Former Angels scout Tom Kotchman said this month that Tebow would’ve been drafted by the team if he had sent in an information card.

But Tebow pursued football and ended up winning a Heisman Trophy and two national titles. He was drafted in the first round by Denver and had a magical season in 2011, leading the Broncos to a 7-4 record and a playoff victory as a starter.

His NFL career fizzled after that, though, and he now works as an analyst for ESPN’s SEC Network.

Tebow announced two weeks ago that he wanted to give baseball another try.

Chad Moeller, a former Dodgers and USC catcher, said in a statement that he has trained Tebow.

“I am beyond impressed with Tim’s athleticism and swing, and it goes without saying that he has shown a high level of discipline and strong work ethic,†Moeller said.

“I see bat speed and power and real baseball talent. I truly believe Tim has the skill set and potential to achieve his goal of playing in the Major Leagues, and based on what I have seen over the past two months, it could happen relatively quickly.â€
