Pau Gasol hobbled in on crutches Tuesday to talk to the media about the passing of Jerry Buss.

“He was an owner that did everything that he could to make sure that his team had the best chance possible to win the title,†said Gasol. “He was all about success. He was very passionate. That was something that you could feel from him.â€

Gasol is still sidelined for at least four to six more weeks with torn plantar fascia in his right foot. The veteran forward-center hopes to be back before the end of the regular season.

“It’s a thing you take one day at a time and you go with the symptoms and see how well and how quick your body is able to heal a certain injury,†said Gasol. “It varies from different individuals -- so we’ve made a lot of good progress. I expect to get off crutches very soon and we’re on the right path. That’s all I know right now two weeks into the injury.â€

The Lakers are 25-29.

Gasol was injured on Feb. 5 in Brooklyn in the Lakers 92-83 victory over the Nets. The original prognosis was that Gasol would be out a minimum of six to eight weeks.
