On Wednesday, the league announced NBA Summer League 2013 will be held in Las Vegas from July 12 to 22.

The Lakers will be one of 21 NBA teams competing for the “inaugural NBA Summer League title.†A 22nd team will consist of “NBA D-League Select†players.

This will be the ninth summer league in Las Vegas, dating back to 2004. The Lakers have participated over five summers dating back to 2007 (with a year off during the 2011 lockout). NBA TV will televise “a full slate of NBA Summer League games.â€

The game schedule has yet to be released. Tickets go on sale on June 1 through UNLVtickets.com, any UNLV ticket outlet or by calling (702) 739-FANS.

The Lakers, who haven’t carried a first-round pick into the regular season since Javaris Crittenton in 2007, have an all-time record of 8-18 (30.7%) in the Las Vegas summer league. Once again, the team will not pick in the first round of 2013 NBA Draft (barring a trade).

All 22 teams will play a minimum of five games apiece. By July 16, the league will seed each team for a single-elimination tournament with a “champion being crowned on July 22.â€
