Kobe Bryant unveils his latest signature shoe and a ‘Kobe piano’
While sitting out all but six games this season with Achilles and knee issues, Kobe Bryant apparently had time to build a custom piano.
At least that’s the premise of his latest Nike commercial.
“The sound alone could end war,†promises the narrator. “It would be the grandest, grand masterpiece of grand pianos.â€
While the spot features Lionel Richie playing on a piano in the shape of Bryant’s logo, the narrator admits that Bryant did not, in fact, make the instrument.
Instead, Bryant is responsible for the “Kobe 9 Collection,†his latest signature shoe.
After spending the first part of the year recovering from an April Achilles tear, Bryant made his season debut Dec. 8 in a loss to the Toronto Raptors.
On Dec. 17, Bryant suffered a knee fracture and has been sidelined ever since. Through his six appearances, Bryant averaged 13.8 points with 6.3 assists.
