Lakers have played more games on the road than at home
One of the problems the Lakers faced this season was a slow start, despite a very home-heavy schedule.
With the Lakers wrapping up a seven-game trip Sunday in Miami, they’ll have more than evened out their schedule. So far this season the Lakers have played 25 games at home (15-10) and 26 on the road (9-17).
That road tally will hit 27 after the game against the Heat, leaving 14 remaining for the season. The Lakers have 16 home games remaining on the schedule.
Nine of the Lakers’ first 11 games were at home -- the team winning only six.
On Tuesday, the Lakers start a four-game homestand, beginning against the Phoenix Suns. March is still very road-centric with 10 of 15 games that month away from Staples Center.
If the Lakers need to make a final push in the month of April, seven of the eight are in Los Angeles, including one “away†game against the Clippers.
Regardless of where the Lakers play, they’re going to need to win at a high rate if they want to catch two of the three teams -- Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers -- ahead of them in the standings to make the top eight.
