Brad Stevens loves Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse ... enough to stay?
Brad Stevens sounds like he’s staying at Butler.
Or …
Stevens is trying to calm Butler recruits and fans.
With UCLA fans -- and reporters -- looking for any indication that he’s made a decision, Stevens posted a comment on Twitter on Friday morning that requires an investigative team.
“Love walking thru Hinkle [Fieldhouse] in the morning… Anxious to get started on our spring workouts next week.â€
So he’s staying … or he isn’t.
UCLA officials targeted Stevens and Virginia Commonwealth’s Shaka Smart as their top candidates after firing Ben Howland last week. Smart wasn’t interested and re-upped with VCU.
Stevens and UCLA representatives have talked, according to a person familiar with the situation who was not authorized to speak on the matter.
But a posting by Stevens is rare. He has sent only 289 posts since first appearing on twitter.com in August 2009.
So it’s a message …
… or it’s not.
