Pryor, who replaces the struggling Matt McGloin, was referring to comments made to CSN Bay Area this week by his agent, Jerome Stanley.

“I think they’re putting him in [in] hopes that he fails,†Stanley said. “That’s what I think [Coach Dennis Allen] is doing. I think they’re putting him in [in] hopes that he has a bad game, so he can then justify the Matt McGloin situation. I thing that’s what’s going on, I do, and it’s ridiculous. ...

“[Allen] doesn’t want him to look good because, if he looks good this week, it makes the past five weeks [when McGloin started ahead of Pryor] look like a bad decision. [Allen] doesn’t want him to look good, he wants him to look bad.â€

McGloin took over the starting job after Pryor suffered an injury to his medial collateral knee ligament, which has since healed.
