The trade that just won’t die may be alive again.

The latest would-be mega trade rumblings again involves the Lakers acquiring Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard in a four-team, six-player deal that would include Andrew Bynum going to the Philadelphia 76ers, Pau Gasol going to the Magic and Andre Iguodala going to the Denver Nuggets, according to a Yahoo Sports report.

The Lakers would also get Nuggets forward Al Harrington and the Nuggets would also send guard Aaron Affalo to the Magic, according to the report.

No deal was imminent, according to other NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, but the teams continue to be engaged in talks.

Bynum’s agent, David Lee, said, “I’ve heard nothing and no one has told me anything,†when he was reached Thursday afternoon.

According to one NBA executive, the Nuggets are definitely interested in getting Iguodala.

Howard, who is recovering from back surgery, has one year left on his contract that pays him $19.4 million. He has said that he would not sign a contract extension until after the 2012-13 season.

Harrington, who can play both power and small forward, has three years left on his deal that pays him a total of $21.4 million.
