PHOENIX – The majority of the renovations at Dodger Stadium will be completed by Friday for the Freeway Series exhibition against the Angels, team President Stan Kasten said.

The Dodgers will have a new clubhouse and there will be new amenities on every level of the stadium.

The team wants to provide improved mobile phone service in the ballpark, but that probably won’t be available until the second homestand of the regular season. Wi-Fi will be upgraded throughout the stadium, but in June.

“By then, we will have the most elaborate and most extensive Wi-Fi network anywhere in baseball,†Kasten said. “Pretty good for a 50-year-old stadium.â€

The Dodgers expected to have the equivalent of 31,000 full-season ticket accounts by opening day, establishing a new record for season tickets sold.

“I had no way to predict that,†Kasten said. “That’s phenomenal.â€

When the team was owned by the O’Malley family, season tickets were sold only in full-season packages and capped at 27,000.

Kasten said the Dodgers will soon stop selling season-ticket packages. Season-ticket holders have the right to buy playoff tickets. With a certain number of playoff tickets having to be saved for Major League Baseball, the opposing team and sponsors, the Dodgers are approaching the number of season tickets they can sell.
