Nearly 25,000 pages worth of Sarah Palin's emails from her tenure as governor are being released by the state of Alaska, spanning the start of her term in December 2006 to shortly after she was named Arizona Sen. John McCain's vice presidential running mate in September 2008. Below is a guide to Palin confidants, critics and family members likely to appear in the correspondence.

Political allies and former staff
Frank Bailey
An ally-turned-critic. Bailey was an advisor to Palin since her 2006 gubernatorial campaign, but recently released a tell-all book that paints an unflattering portrait of the former governor.
Debbie Bitney
Treasurer of Palin's 2006 campaign. She married and then divorced close Palin friend Scott Richter and is now married to former Palin aide John Bitney.
John Bitney
A high school classmate of the Palins who played key roles in Palin's 2006 campaign and her administration. He was fired in July 2007 when Palin learned that he was having an affair with Debbie Richter.
Craig Campbell
A confidant and vocal supporter during the 2006 campaign. He served as the state's commissioner of veterans affairs while Palin was governor. Campbell later became lieutenant governor, replacing Sean Parnell.
Kerm Ketchum
A close friend of Palin's parents, Chuck and Sally Heath. Frank Bailey described him as a "father figure" for the Palin team.
Bill McAllister
A former Alaska political reporter who served as Palin's communications director during her vice presidential run.
Sean Parnell
Palin's lieutenant governor, who took the gubernatorial post when Palin suddenly resigned in July 2009.
Kris Perry
A friend dating back to Palin's days in Wasilla city government. She was the only Alaska aide to travel with the governor during her vice presidential campaign.
Larry Persily
A former journalist and onetime aide to Palin. Persily was the associate director of Alaska's Washington office. Since 2010, he has served as the federal natural gas pipeline coordinator for Alaska, a position appointed by President Obama.
Scott Richter
A real estate investor and longtime friend. He co-owns lakeside property with the couple north of Wasilla.
Meghan Stapleton
A senior advisor and spokeswoman who worked for Palin from December 2006 to February 2010.
Mike Tibbles
Palin's chief of staff from November 2006 to May 2008. He now runs a political consulting firm in Anchorage.
'Troopergate' figures
Chuck Kopp
Chief of the Kenai, Alaska, police department when Palin hired him to replace Walt Monegan. He resigned days into the job after a reprimand stemming from a sexual harassment claim against him came to light.
Walt Monegan
A former state public safety commissioner who was dismissed by Palin on July 11, 2008. Monegan said he was fired because he had refused to dismiss Wooten.
Adversaries
Jeanne Devon
A well-known anti-Palin blogger at TheMudflats.net. She worked on Frank Bailey's tell-all book.
Dan Fagan
A conservative talk radio host who originally backed Palin, but later became a vocal critic.
Lyda Green
A former Republican state Senate president. She repeatedly clashed with Palin while both were in office.
Andrew Halcro
A former Republican state legislator who ran against Palin as an independent in the 2006 race. His blog, AndrewHalcro.com, skews negative in its Palin coverage.
Oil and gas
Bruce Anders
An early advisor to Palin on a natural gas pipeline deal. He later served as state director of oil and gas leasing.
Tom Irwin
A key energy policy advisor who had served as commissioner of the state Department of Natural Resources under Gov. Frank Murkowski.
Family
Levi Johnston
Father of Palin's grandson and Bristol Palin's former fiance. He has sparred publicly with Sarah Palin over numerous issues.
