Southern California will stay damp and gloomy Monday, but forecasters said sunny skies were ahead.

“Lots of drizzle†and light rain were expected throughout the day across valley areas and the San Gabriel foothills, said meteorologist Andrew Rorke with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. Temperatures were expected to reach the low to middle 60s.

Monday afternoon could bring a few breaks in the clouds, but Rorke said the grayish weather would likely linger through Tuesday.

But after that, Rorke said, “nothing but sunny skies†are ahead. Temperatures are expected to hit the upper 60s on Wednesday and near 80 on Thursday and Friday.

“We’re going to stop pretending we’re Seattle and get back to some Southern California weather,†Rorke said.
