Rapper Lil Twist arrested on suspicion of DUI in Justin Bieber’s car
A member of Justin Bieber’s entourage was arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies early Thursday morning in Calabasas on suspicion of driving under the influence, authorities said.
Christopher Moore, 20, an aspiring rapper known as Lil Twist, was pulled over at 3:26 a.m. while driving the 2012 chrome Fisker Karma registered to the pop star, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
Moore was driving nearly 70 mph and ran a red light near the intersection of Parkway Calabasas and Camino Portal, a street leading to the gated community where Bieber lives.
“He was stopped and he was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana,†Whitmore said.
The speed limit on the street is 45 mph, but there was construction in the area resulting in a lower speed limit, Whitmore said.
The rapper is a close friend and associate of Bieber. Moore was taken to the Malibu-Lost Hills station for booking and was expected to be released. The Fisker was towed and impounded, Whitmore said.
Bieber has come under criticism in his gated Calabasas community.
Residents say Bieber ignores posted speed limits, homeowners association laws, and pretty much all the rules of life in a gated community. Gardeners in the Oaks have come to know Bieber’s car as a white blur, and neighbors say he and a fraternity of twentysomething friends race motorbikes and throw raucous parties.
