Man with gun killed in confrontation with officers, LAPD says
A man who police say had a firearm was killed in a confrontation with officers in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood, authorities said Wednesday night.
The officer-involved shooting occurred about 6 p.m. near West Adams and Hauser boulevards, police said.
Officers arrived at scene after receiving a report of a man with a gun, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“They were confronted by that man with a gun,†Officer Sara Faden told The Times.
The LAPD’s Force Investigation Division will be probing the shooting. No other details were immediately available.
Since January 2007, at least 86 homicides have been reported within two miles of Wednesday’s shooting scene, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
