L.A. weather: Rain to move out today; more may arrive Thursday
A weather system that brought light overnight showers to the Southland will clear out Monday, leaving partly cloudy skies and below normal temperatures for much of the week, forecasters say.
Rainfall totals for the L.A. region were minimal, with downtown registering just 0.14 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Woodland Hills saw just 0.04 inches.
The drop in temperatures, though, has been more dramatic, with snow levels dropping to 4,000 feet. As the weather system clears out, forecasters said daytime temperatures for the week will remain a few degrees below normal in the low- to mid-60s.
A winter weather advisory was in effect through Monday morning amid warnings of snowfall and scattered showers possibly affecting driving conditions on the Angeles Crest Highway and Interstate 5.
Another storm system is expected to move in Thursday, bringing with it a 20% chance of rain into Friday morning before clearing out again for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
A small ridge of high pressure is expected to start building on Saturday, heralding the start of a small warming trend over the weekend, the weather service said.
