Kanye West investigated in battery case in Beverly Hills
Police launched a battery investigation after an incident in which West is said to have attacked a man who reportedly yelled racial slurs at his fiance, Kim Kardashian.
Beverly Hills police launched a battery investigation Monday involving rapper Kanye West, police said.
The alleged incident was reported about 12:15 p.m. Monday in the 8800 block of Wilshire Boulevard, a commercial district, according to a statement from the Beverly Hills Police Department.
“The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses,†police said in a statement. West left the scene before officers arrived, police said.
Authorities are conducting a follow-up investigation. No further information was available, said Beverly Hills Police Sgt. George DeMarois.
West pleaded not guilty in November to charges of battery and attempted grand theft in connection with a physical altercation at LAX with a paparazzo.
