A road rage incident over the weekend on the 134 Freeway culminated in both cars stopping and one driver attacking the other as a witness recorded the whole thing on his camera, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident occurred about 3 p.m. Saturday and was posted on YouTube. The California Highway Patrol learned of the video Wednesday night and launched an investigation, CHP Officer Edgar Figueroa said.

The video is from the view of a driver behind the two vehicles involved — a 2010 Infiniti G35 and a compact Volkswagen Jetta — as they drive westbound toward the 2 Freeway.

The person recording the video said that the Jetta cut off the Infiniti, and then dangerous driving ensued. Three children were in the Infiniti while it battled with the Jetta, Figueroa said.

After swerving toward the Jetta several times, the Infiniti driver pulled in front of the other vehicle and came to a complete stop, forcing both cars and the person recording the confrontation to stop too.

The Infiniti driver, whom the CHP identified as Dikran Gligoriu, 35, of Temple City, is seen getting out of the car and hustling over to the Jetta driver. He then reached through an open window to strike and shake the driver.

After a few moments, the man stopped the attack and the Jetta pulled away. The man then returned to his car and drove off.

CHP investigators have since spoken with everyone involved, Figueroa said. The driver of the Jetta suffered minor facial injuries, he said.

Authorities on Thursday delivered their report on the incident to Los Angeles County prosecutors, who are now considering the possibility of filing felony battery and child endangerment charges against Gligoriu, Figueroa said.

“This type of behavior is unacceptable,†Figueroa said. “We understand that it is frustrating to be in traffic, but you cannot take out your anger on anyone else.â€

Gligoriu remains out of custody pending possible charges.
