County considers raising price of L.A. Phil tickets at Hollywood Bowl
The price of tickets to see the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl in 2014 may be going up, according to a proposal that is scheduled to be voted on Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
The largest increases are $9, to $310, for special events, according to a staff report. Other ticket fees will decrease by $1. Overall, the price changes are expected to bring in an additional $30,000 of revenue.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Assn. “seeks to increase ticket prices … to accommodate increased production, labor, marketing, and artists’ costs,†according to a staff report prepared by the county Department of Parks and Recreation. “It should be noted, however, that the Association in some instances is recommending to maintain or decrease prices. The Association has developed a price schedule that keeps tickets reasonable and competitive with other venues in Los Angeles County.â€
