Police seek man who allegedly shot and killed 19-year-old in Artesia
Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in the murder of an Artesia man.
Boren Lay, 19, is suspected of killing Timothy Teopaco, 19, in a restaurant parking lot in July.
According to detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began with an argument between Lay and one of Teopaco’s friends inside a restaurant in the 11600 block of South Street in Artesia.
The friend called Teopaco for help. Detectives allege that when Teopaco arrived, Lay shot him. He died after being transported to a local hospital.
A murder warrant has been issued for Lay’s arrest but police have been unable to locate him. Detectives say he is known to spend time in the Long Beach area.
