At L.A. Times Festival of Books: Jonathan Gold, Roy Choi, Suzanne Goin and more
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books returns to the University of Southern California on April 12 and 13 with a lineup of chefs scheduled to appear on the cooking stage.
Here’s the April 12 (Saturday) schedule:
11 a.m. — Cooking demonstration: Alan Jackson and JoAnn Cianciulli, authors of “The Lemonade Cookbook.â€
12:30 p.m. — Interview by Jonathan Gold: Roy Choi, author of “L.A. Son: My Life, My City, My Food.â€
2 p.m. — Cooking demonstration: Suzanne Goin, author of “The A.O.C. Cookbook.â€
3:30 p.m. — Cooking demonstration: Hugh Acheson, author of “Pick a Pickle.â€
On April 13 (Sunday):
11 a.m. — Cooking demonstration: Jackie Collins, author of “The Lucky Santangelo Cookbook.â€
12:30 p.m. — Cooking demonstration: Scott Conant, author of “The Scarpetta Cookbookâ€
2 p.m. — Cooking demonstration: Carla Hall, author of “Carla’s Comfort Foodsâ€
3:30 p.m. — Cooking demonstration: Ben Ford, author of “Taming the Feast: Ben Ford’s Field Guide to Adventurous Cooking.â€
Also on Sunday are the following panels:
10:30 a.m. — “Craft: Changing the Way We Eat†with moderator Noelle Carter and panelists Alex Brown, Evan George, Steve Hindy and Forrest Pritchard, at the Davidson Continuing Education Center.
Noon — “Are We What We Eat? The Culture of Food†with moderator Michael Quick and panelists Gustavo Arellano, Jonathan Gold and Dana Goodyear at Hoffman Hall (presented by USC).
The Festival of Books also will host several food trucks: Belly Bombz, Cousins Maine Lobster, Crepe N Around, Gourmet Genie, India Jones Chow Truck, Jackson Thai BBQ, No Jodas Cuban Kitchen, Palazzolo Truck, Recess Truck, the Boba Truck, the Greasy Weiner, the Grilled Cheese Truck, White Rabbit.
