Farm Stand, the El Segundo restaurant known for its pastas, duck meatloaf and Turkish eggplant dip, is closing March 25 after 10 years on Main Street. Owner Sylvie Gabriele, who is part of the father-daughter team behind Love & Salt, an Italian restaurant in Manhattan Beach, and chef Alex Mosavi, have plans to open a new fast-casual Mediterranean concept restaurant in a yet-to-be-determined L.A. neighborhood.

The two will work with Gabriele’s father, Guy, who with Sylvie ran the now-closed Cafe Pierre for 37 years in the space now occupied by Love & Salt. Also on board is Michael Fiorelli, the executive chef at Love & Salt who is the former executive chef at the Terranea Resort and Mar’sel, and Love & Salt chef de cuisine and pastry chef Rebecca Merhej.

“It’s been an honor to serve El Segundo, and Alex and I are so appreciative of the support we’ve received during our tenure in this community,†said Gabriele in a statement. “We’re looking forward to collaborating with the full team at Love & Salt, including my father, Guy Gabriele, to introduce a fresh concept that’s in line with how people are eating today.â€

The yet-to-be-named concept will feature Persian and Lebanese flavors, inspired by both Mosavi’s and Merjeh’s backgrounds. Like its predecessor, the new restaurant will focus on serving non-GMO, organic food that emphasizes plant-based ingredients and sustainable proteins.

The restaurant, with plans to serve lunch and dinner, is scheduled to open in 2017.
