Good news, Japan: Your economy is improving and KFC has deep-fried corn soup nuggets!
Just when you think you’ve seen it all from the fast food world of Japan, KFC launches deep fried soup. The fast food chain has taken corn potage, a popular Japanese cafe item, and deep-fried it into soup nuggets, reports RocketNews24.com.
The new item will launch at KFC locations in Japan beginning Thursday and will be available for a limited time. But the soup nuggets, like so many Japanese fast food and snack gems (Pepsi Cheetos and Domino’s Sirloin Steak pizza to name a few) will not be making its way to the U.S. any time soon. Or maybe at all.

If you call yourself a fast foodie who delights in new menu offerings -- bonus points if they are some sort of hybrid -- then you’ve probably flirted with the idea of moving to Japan. Why? Because the fast food chains in Japan have imagination and like to experiment.
Here in the U.S., we’re left marveling at a Doritos Locos Taco shell. “Wait, it’s Doritos and a taco shell in one? No way.â€
We’re officially proposing KFC U.S. take something like chicken noodle soup or chicken pot pie filling and find a way to turn it into a fritter. And while they’re at it, finding a way to turn the mashed potatoes with gravy into a crispy ball of some sort isn’t a bad idea either.
