Ramen Burger headed to Los Angeles area on Saturday
The Ramen Burger is headed to the Los Angeles area. After a debut earlier this year at the Smorgasburg food festival in Brooklyn, Ramen Burger creator Keizo Shimamoto is bringing the hybrid sandwich to Southern California.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Keizo will be at the Mitsuwa Market in Torrance with 500 Ramen Burgers. He’ll be serving them first come, first served.
“A week ago I had a dream that my mom would be able to try a Ramen Burger, not an imposter but a REAL Ramen Burger, the same one I debuted at Smorgasburg five weeks ago,†wrote Shimamoto on his blog GoRamen.com. “Today that dream will come true. But not only will my mom be able to eat one, my fellow Angelinos who come early will also get to try one.â€

The Ramen Burger is a burger made with two pan-fried ramen patties and a ground beef middle patty. When Shimamoto brought the burger to the Smorgasburg festival, hundreds of people waited for hours in the rain to get a taste.
Earlier this summer we asked the question: Is the Ramen Burger the next Cronut? We’re anticipating long lines when the burger makes its way to Torrance this weekend. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
